What is CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD is a chemical in the Cannabis sativa plant, also known as cannabis or hemp. Over 80 chemicals, known as cannabinoids, have been found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is the most famous compound in cannabis. But CBD is obtained from hemp, a form of the Cannabis sativa plant that only contains small amounts of THC. The effects of CBD on the brain are numerous. Some of the most common seen are relaxation, pain relief and a reduction of inflammation. CBD differs from THC as its effects do not include the psychoactive component that can cause the feeling of euphoria or disorientation that is common with THC.
Is CBD legal?
Thanks to the passing of the 2018 Farm bill, hemp derived products such as CBD and any component derived of hemp is legal. These items are Federally legal to sell across the U.S. as long as the component THC tests below 0.3% Delta-9 THC. The 2018 Farm Bill defines hemp as “any part of that plant, including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts and salts of isomers with no more than 0.3% concentration of delta-9”. Can CBD be shipped to me? In short, yes CBD can be shipped to you. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp at the federal level and included a provision that makes it illegal for states to prohibit the transportation of hemp and hemp products.
